Thunderbird Configuration - Autoconfig

Configuration of Thunderbird is rather easy compared to most email clients when autoconfig is properly configured. To configure Thunderbird for your email address:

  1. If you do not have a menu bar across the top of your screen press F10
  2. Choose Edit -> Account Settings
  3. From the "Account Actions" button choose "Add Mail Account..."
  4. Enter your name as you would like it to appear on outgoing email
  5. Enter your CyVon Email Address
  6. Enter your CyVon Email Password
  7. Click "Continue" (Thunderbird will now find your settings.)
  8. Click "Done"
  9. Click "OK" to close the Account Setting Box.
  10. You will not see your new account on the left hand list. Click your "Inbox" and email will start to download.


Thunderbird Background Email Setting - OPTIONAL

Many people ask why thunderbird can recieve email in the background, but you need to sit and wait while it sends an email. Well, You don't! The following guide allows you to change some of the Advanced thunderbird settings to allow background email sending... just be sure to check your outbox from time to time.
